ok so I have done a couple of installs and this is my first with the immobilizer bypass I have the clifford rsx3.5. Im pretty sure I have everything connected properly. My problem is when I tried programming the 531 the first key went great, it honked and everything same with the second key, but didnt get the module in front of the key in time and it wont let me start over. What do I do to fix the module. I have tried unplugging it and the battery and nothing seems to work. If I unplug the 531 and leave a key in the ignition the jeep starts and stays running but the second I plug the 531 back in and try to remote start it shows the security key in the corner, so I know its not seeing the key. I also have the loop wrapped tight around the barrel the best I can with the stock module right in front of it. What am I doing wrong.
A couple of things to check.
Is the XK531 flashed with the JDL firmware?
Do you have the Clifford (-) Status Output wire connected to the XK531 Brown GWR wire?
In the steps below, will the Jeep sucessfully complete step 3? I have heard that sometimes it is necessary to open up the XK531 module to get the transponder pill inside closer to the cars ignition switch antenna. ( The module has no harnesses connected during Transponder programming.)
First step: Transponder programming
You will need 2 valid keys. Proceed as follows:
1- Insert the first valid key into the ignition switch and turn “ON” for at least 5 seconds, but no longer than 15 seconds
2- Turn the ignition switch “OFF” and remove the first key.
3- Insert the second valid key in the ignition switch and turn “ON”. After 10 seconds, a chime will sound and the “SECURITY” light will begin
to flash. Turn the ignition switch “OFF” and remove the second key.
* YOU NOW HAVE 60 SECONDS TO PROCEED TO THE NEXT STEPS*
Position the module (screw side) close and towards the ignition barrel for the next 2 steps.
4- With the help of a jumper wire, power up vehicle ignition.
5- After 10 seconds, a chime will sound. The “SECURITY” light will stop flashing, then turn “ON” for 3 seconds, then turn “OFF”.
The module is now programmed
The last thing to check is the XK531 antenna wrap on the Ignition Switch. It should be on the key side of the barrel flange, nearest the actual key position during normal operation.
Newer modules use a Data type bypass that is much easier and reliable. Here is a link to the options fron iDatalink : https://www.idatalink.com/helpdesk/ Look up your car and open the install guide for the iDatalink ADS ALSL CH bypass module. Also download install guide # 0195 for the older ADS TBSL C1. It has a diagram that explains the antenna wrap position for best performance.
