I am installing an avital 4103 into my 05 silverado with a DLPKGM bypass, currently it is wired up per the DEI suppliment for D2D.  I don't think the bypass is talking to the remote start or possibly the vehicle.  Here is what is happening, the factory fob will control the lock and unlock the remote starts fob will not control anything on the truck, pressing the unlock or lock buttons activates some relays in the remote start box, I can hear them click.  The remote start sequence will crank the engine and briefly start it but it shuts off immediately.  If I leave the key in the ignition in the ignition position and remote start the truck it will start and stay running.  I have tried to run thru the programming sequence of the bypass and it flashes per the instructions but doesn't seem to be programming correctly.

Help me please.

I don't really want to try W2W but is that what I should do?  I don't think that will solve my bypass for the key issue.

Is a component bad?

W2W is the only way to go as the Avital pieces do NOT work properly with D2D. I wish DEI would publish this information better. Rewire it in W2W mode, and post back your results.

Thanks for the info.  I have afew questions.

Why does DEI promote the D2D if it doesn't work correctly?

So I looked at the W2W instructions and the diagram shows the Door Trigger (DLPKGM side) wire going to the remote start, where exactly I don't see a matching pin.

Also I don't have the Accesory 2 (brown) wire powered at the key is this possibly my issue?

I have also heard some of the D2D wires were pinned out incorrectly do you have the pinout at the red and white end so I can see if mine is good?

Thanks

I can't speak for DEI so I can't really answer that question. Since Avital is the brand I use most, I know they don't work right with D2D. I can tell you that D2D works fine on DEI's big name platforms Viper, Python, etc.

Not needed as you are not installing an alarm, just keyless/remote start.

I always energize it. A while ago I read a thread, can't remember where now, that said if this wire is not energized the truck could burn out o2 sensors prematurely. I have not seen this happen personally and to be completely honest I would think that the o2 should be energized with ignition circuits. But I did not design the truck, nor do I claim to be someone 'in the know' on this subject. So I always hook it up. This would not keep the truck from remote starting, it would just not energize all of the accessory circuits that the key energizes. I always try to hook up everything, to ensure the remote start operates just like using the key.

As mentioned earlier, I don't use it in D2D...so according to the manual you are only concerned with the blue and black wires on that D2D harness for W2W installation.

I wired it up W2W and it is now working.  Thanks for the reply.

The up suplement sheet was wrong I had to use the red and black wire on the D2D harness to power the DLPKGM, I wish the instructions were better.

One thing I noticed is that the Unlock button unlocks both doors with the first press of the button on the FOB can that be changed so I get the passanger door to unlock on the 2nd press of the unlock button on the FOB?
