1990 Nissan d21 (hardbody) pickup, 2.5L 4cyc,  manual tranny.

Unit I am trying to install is the Crimestopper coolstart rs-3G2

So I got it all wired up.  Hit the remote start button.  Relay clicks, fuel pump turns on, but that is as far as it goes.  the motor never turns over.  Any ideas?

Two starter wires?
Test the R/S outputs?
Try hot wiring the way you wired up the R/S, if it starts the R/S is faulty if it doesn't your wiring is faulty.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.

Manual transmission reservation?
Is this a diesel?
Diesel wait to start required (the glow plug)?
Clutch switch?

no its gas.  According to the instructions if I have a manual tranny i put one wire (green) to the parking brake and the pink wire to the door switch, I thought I would have to use the clutch switch.

i know this is not the right way, but it did work.  I just took the 2 wires going to the clutch switch and tied them together.  So it is working now.  Still wondering how the right way is spose to go.

Bypassing the Clutch Interlock Switch like that is extremely unsafe.  The car can now start
without the clutch pedal depressed.  If left in gear, even with the emergency brake on, the car
can start moving with a remote start.

I am not familiar with the Crimestopper units.  The Coolstart RS-3G2 info lists it as manual transmission safe.

Page 19 of the install guide has this info on Program Option 11 :
11. Manual Transmission Mode: Authorized Crimestopper Dealers Only. Call Tech Support for Instructions.
You must change Option 11 to "ON" and connect the Pink wire from the 12 Pin Low Current Plug to
RED / Black Door Trigger wire in the left pillar of the vehicle.

Page 23 details the Manual Transmission Mode setup and Reservation Mode.

The Crimestopper unit has limited outputs.  You should obtain a 30/40A SPDT relay and wire it as follows to properly bypass the clutch :
Relay Pin 30 to one side of Clutch Switch
Relay Pin 87 to the other side of Clutch Switch
Relay Pin 86 to +12V Constant or Brown Starter wire on Pin 6 High Current Plug
Relay Pin 85 to Yellow/Black wire of 12 Pin Low Current Plug ( (-) Run / Ignition )
The Yellow/Black wire is default programmed as Igniton and should be used only for this relay.
That will only bypass the clutch interlock switch during remote start and allow normal operation at all other times.

Please call Crimestopper ( Phone (800) 998-6880 ) and follow their instructions for a safe install.

Soldering is fun!

I know it's unsafe and would never do that on someone elses car. I was just frustrated that it was not working. I have some relays laying around and will try that out. Thanks for your help.
