I have an Avital 4111L Remote Start unit, with an XK09 xpresskit installed on an 09 Mitsubishi Lancer (with smart key) And I was wondering if it would be possible to simply swap out the Avital brain for either a Viper, Python, or Clifford 4203 Remote Start and let it be as easy as plug and play.

The installation guide seems identical, and since they are all built by the same company, I would figure the wireing and the plugs are the same? Thanks again!

Compare the new harness to the one in the vehicle.  Make sure every wire is in the same location.  If they are all in the same location, then yes it should be as easy as unplugging one and plugging the other one in.

The Python 4203's installation guide looks identical to the Avitall's guide, but does the Clifford and the Viper use the same guide? If they do then the swap should be fairly easy, since the connections are the same. I would just need to remount the new 2 way antenna.

Aren't they both DEI pieces?  If so, they are probably identical units in every way.

I believe they are DEI pieces. I just don't want to spend the money on a unit and find out I can't use it. I just would love to have a 2-way remote, so i'll give it a try, and it should work.

Thanks guys!
