K, I have been trying this out for months now, and I am desperate!  I need help bad on an advanced issue.

Specs:      -2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Magnum 4X4  Idle rpm around 500 (which is normal)

                  -Astroflex 1100 installed.

Problem:  All functions work except the auto start. When I press the button, the truck fires up, then it dies after 10 seconds or so. I check out the LED light, blinks 13 times, meaning that my RPMs are too low. I enter programming mode and set the idle to 500 and same problem.

One thing I just tried doing is assuming it was my autostart system, so I got a different one from somewere else and plugged it in and I got the same error codes.

Hope some one can help...

Thanks again

Hey Matt, does your truck have a transponder? If yes, does the security light flash during remote start? The reason I ask is the truck may be shutting itself off due to transponder failure and the astro just sees the rpms dropping. 10 seconds seems a little long for this but it's worth a shot. The other easy thing to do is to autolearn the tach. I think it's switches 1,5,6,7, in the on position while the truck is running then press the brake. Park lights should flash the amount of cylinders learned then put switched back down. Good luck.

Thanks so much for the reply, I checked out the transponder issue idea and it is fine. I do have a transponder key setup and i noticed that the wire wrapped around my cut transponder key ran into the P5 programmable relay. Also the security light didn't come on while trying to remote start the truck

so the methods I tried was for a just in case scenario:
1) unplug the wire to P5 and attemped... truck cut out asap and security light came on.
2)replugged transponder wires, reversed the connections and same issue as before...error 13
3)unplugged the wires again and had original key inserted into ingnition and same issue...error 13
4)went and bought a Astroflex HGA on kijiji and plug it in with same connections, same error 13

Now I know its not the unit I guess.

Now what should i do.....
1)Should I keep the HGA or is the 1100 better??
2)Could it be a tack issue...
    2a)Replace tack wire???
2B)See if there is another connection point for tack sensor wire?
3)Could an OBD2 reader tell me more info?

okay problem solved!!!posted_image My own stupidity lol! So what i did was the auto learn tach. what i did was followed ur directions like i have done a million times before with no success. Then i thought why dont i look at the book to see if im missing a step.. Sure enough what i had to do was

Turn the truck on by the key,
reached down and switched 1,5,6,7 up on the dip's
waited 10 seconds or so cause i couldn't see the tail lights come on
hit the break, waited some more
pressed all dips back down to off, waited a few seceonds
then pressed the break again
turned truck off by key..

Done deal truck is working once again!!! Loven it!!
