recently purchased a 97 Ford Explorer. After driving in the rain my windshield wipers and power windows stopped working along with the dome light? i took it to a mechanic and the wiring from the aftermarket system was exposed and bare...basically terrible. How much does this usually cost to get fixed?
------------- UNC alllll day!!

None of which apart from maybe the dome light is relevant to the alarm. Wipers and windows shouldn't have been affected unless there was a window close module involved.
------------- Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

The answer to your last question for me would be about 2-4 hours at whatever the hourly rate.

I suspected a fuse for the wipers & windows (if not a breaker), but since only cost was involved...
