Hi, im planing on installing either a viper 5701 or 5901 on mi wife's 02 accent 2 door hatch back 5 speed. i know how to install everything on the the system due to installing multiple viper systems on my cars (latest being viper 5901) with no issues but my car is an automatic. i have never attempted this on a stick and the only part im stuck on is how i am supposed to wire it in to bypass the clutch for the r/s part of the system. is it just a wire from the unit that ties into the clutch wire or is a relay needed? i know it depends on the type of system the clutch uses but i cannot find any info of her car to try to figure it out. so basically what do i need to do to bypass the clutch and what will i need, and how does it work exactly. thanks a bunch ahead of time, shes hounding me since its getting cold and doesn't want to get in a freezing car with our baby.

First off, have you installed the starter properly for a manual transmission (requiring "ready" mode for neutral safety).

If so, then you need to look at your clutch switch and see how it is activated. Most cars use a clutch switch similar to the brake switch... but with a ground instead of 12v. Figure out which wire is grounded with the clutch in.

Once you have figured this out, you probably are not using the status output of the starter being that it is a hyundai and PROBABLY doesn't require a bypass. If not, then in some cases you can connect the status out directly to the wire you tested. However in other cases it may not be a strong enough signal and may require you to wire in a relay.
