I am wanting to use a bypass module that does not use a spare key. anyone know which one I can use on a 2001 catera?

That car's a rebadged Opel Omega....I don't think anyone makes a no-key-required bypass.

I don't think program a key to it yourself, either. I've only worked on one Catera, but I'm pretty sure I tried programming a regular GM PK3 key to it and it didn't work.

The owner's manual also refers the customer to the dealer for key replacement; it doesn't have programming instructions like other GM cars.

You might try calling some local locksmiths to see if they charge any less than the dealer.
