Okay I am baffled, do I have a bad viper brain or is it me?  I have a 2006 Honda Civic LX with the Viper 5701 R/S alarm.  The Viper alarm provides a constant ground for both the door lock & unlock wires while at rest (blue & green wires in the door lock/unlock harness).  This is while the viper lock/unlock wires are not connected to anything in the car.  For testing, I took my Digital Multi Meter (DMM) red wire and connected it to a 12v + source and the black common wire on the DMM and connected it to the blue or green wire.  For both wires, the resulting reading on the DMM was 12 volts continuously.  With a constant ground, it just does not make sense how it will control the door locks.

Any ideas on why this is happening?

By the way, everything else on the remote start alarm is working properly.

Faulty Brain. Also don't allow your fingers to make contact with the leads of the meter when testing the wires.

Glad to hear it wasn’t me.  Thanks for the help!
