Hello all,

I am trying to program a replacement remote for a Viper 160XV for a friend.

However, when I look at the unit, the LED status light is missing as is the valet programming button (the blue 2 pin harness)

I assume you need those to program the new remote?  The bitwriter is not able to program new remotes, only features correct?  As I do have a bit writer....

Thanks all!

Yes, you need the pushbutton atleast.

Open door, turn ignition on, press then release button, then press and hold,   then pree the lock button on the remote.

Release button, turn ignition off.  Test remote
