I have a customer that wants me to install an alarm in there 06 BMW and in the notes it says something about the locks might not work after u install the alarm and might have to change actuators. Has anyone had this problem or know if it will happen or how to avoid it. Im installing a viper alarm with a dlpk and a kibmw bypass thanks in advance

Don't go to the lock switch, go to the lock unlock wires in the driver kick panel, loom coming from the door, white black lock -, blue/red unlock-, extend lock pulse for comfort close.
Question, surely there's a perfectly good factory alarm already.
I think the lock question comes up when you install an R/S to these and you use the regular key in say a 556U rather than the grey valet key.
The "regular" key still talks to the car and for instance during the R/S takeover in a manual transmission it prevents you locking the doors.

I just can't see why, everything can be hard wired.

if you are not doing remote start then you should not require the key interface for bmw push to starts

I'm just worried cause on dei forum it says u can blow actuators and the switch in the car if u go directly to the door lock wires

I've never gone to the door locks since before 1985, when in the UK I had to install actuators!
Did you mean trigger wires?
If you want I'll upload directechs and the door lock note.

I'm still trying to work out why a vehicle that has a perfectly good factory alarm needs another.
