I have a 2009 Ram pickup that I have put a Buuldog deluxe 500 remote starter and a xk09 bypass module in. I am almost positive all the wiring is correct. I did not install the hoodpin switch (Bulldog said that this was optional). The locks work, the parking lights work, but, the truck will not start. When I push the start button on the remote the ignition barrel clicks 3 times and thats it no starting. The diagnostic light code reads that it is not sensing the tach (which I did not hook up either. It said this was optional also) Does anyone have any suggestions? I have been working on this for about 5 days and getting very frustrated. I have talked to tech support at Bulldog several times and they are not very helpful.

to fix your problem, run a tach wire. this shouldn't be optional.

and the hood pin is not optional either, its a safety to you cant remote start if the hood is open.

The best place is a F.I.  Here is the tach info from DEI :
Tachometer        NOT BROWN / white  (a/c)            any fuel injector

Page 30 of the install guide has the tach learn process.
