Hi everyone,

Couple days ago I am installed 2 way autostart on my car. Everything works fine except one thing.

I cannot to figure out how to set my keyless entry system. My wiring diagram says that I have one wire system (-) and for lock I need to use a negative with 4.7k Ohm Resistor, and for unlock same wire.

So what I did. From my remote start module I found two wires based on installation manual (one for unlock and another one for lock). On the wire for lock somewhere in the middle of wire I am solder 4.7K Ohm resistor and merged with only one wire on my car for door lock/unlock based on my wiring diagram from this website (WHITE/ blue wire). Another wire for unlock merged to same WHITE/ blue wire. Now, what's happened. When I press the button on my remote for unlock, works fine, but when I tried to lock - nothing.

Can anyone help me with this, please??
Do I need relay maybe?

Thanks everyone in advance, and sorry for my bad english.

My car: Mazda Protege 1998

Not sure what brand / model remote start you have, but it sounds like it does not have built in
door lock relays.  Its' Lock and Unlock output is probably a 200mA (-) pulse.

Here is a diagram of Bulldog Security's recommendation for the install wiring :

The top diagram would be correct for your application.  The relays are standard 30/40 Amp SPDT
( Bosch ) relays.

And your English is very good.  posted_image

Soldering is fun!

sounds like a current issue, what kregs suggested should fix your problem.

Thanks a lot guys.

I'll try this on next two days. I hope that will work.

I thought that inside of this system has already installed the relay for lock/unlock doors. But maybe that relay is not enough for my car.

2 relays, use this diagram:-multiplex_via_relays.bmp

Note the 1N4004 diodes, please use them.

Note it bleeding ain't Kreg and I obviously can't read either, I just went to the trouble of doing a diagram for our poster then read your post again!

P.S. I think mine's more easy to read (slightly) and they didn't include the protection diodes, joking aside NEVER do a DEI without.

use a dmm and check those outputs from the unit.
if they have built in relays, seeif you have it wired up correctly.

How many lock wires, 2 or 6 and if 6 please list the colours and functions according to alarm manufacturer. This isn't one of these Chinese $20 products is it by any chance, at which point Tedmund and I will sigh in exasperation and as one say "bin it". posted_image

Guys, I didn't find a time to try this until yesterday.

I did everything what you told me and based on Kregs diagram, but still nothing.

I got same thing like without relays. I can unlock, but I cannot lock the door.

I checked relays (it works), resistor (I got 46.7K Ohm), remote start module sending signal for unlock and for lock (so, works), but still I cannot lock the door.

Any idea guys?

Ground the wire either side of the resister to see if the lock and unlocks work.
If so then ground your relays at the 85 terminals (the two wires from the alarm.
If so the test the lock outputs from the alarm (each should go to ground for 0.8 seconds) when you arm and disarm.
The three tests above should tell us whether you have a faulty resister, bad relays, bad unit or you've done some bad wiring.

Howie, I have to be honest, I didn't understand your post.

"Ground the wire either side of the resister" - I need to use two wires, connect it to both side of the resister and ground it or??

Yesterday, I removed the lock wire and I leave just the unlock wire connected. Unlock is still worked.

"If so the test the lock outputs from the alarm (each should go to ground for 0.8 seconds) when you arm and disarm." - I don't understand what I need to do here!?

Sorry, but I know little bit about electronics, so I need to ask you what you actually mean, because I don't want to burn my car. :)

I'm just trying to lead you through self testing diagnostics to find and eliminate the problem.
All you need is a DMM and or a test light. If you don't understand what I'm getting at you really shouldn't be attempting this.
Perhaps some of the other posters have some comments to enlighten you.
