Subject: viper 5701 blue led always on?

Hi,
I installed a viper 5701 over a year ago and has worked perfect until today. Now the blue LED indicator always stays on, no flashing, just on all the time. Everything still works fine, lock, unlock, alarm, 2 way communication, etc..
Its just annoying driving at night with the bright LED in my face. Any one have any idea what would/could be causing this, I am assuming its not a short or anything as the thing just plugs into the main body. Read the manual and didn't see anything useful.
Thanks for your help!!

Try pressing the F Button twice and then the unlock button. Might be in Valet mode. ------------- When all else fails, Read the Instructions

Tried thatand then the remote would play to noises with lock/unlock, but LED still stays on, did it again, remote back to normal, BLUE led still on though.

Try disconnecting power to alarm system for maybe 30 secs then re connect. Perhaps this will reset a system malfunction or glitch with the brain. If not..perhaps there is a problem with the led

Ted how come according to our poster, everything still works?
If genuinely in valet mode you would only have lock and unlock.
I'm with birdman on this.

Ted, basically it's a question of read the owner's manual but my experience of DEI product is that in valet mode you only have locks, nothing else, think what valet mode is used for.

Definitely valet mode. But the blue led is supposed to switch off once ignition is turned on, alarm not seeing true ignition maybe. Yes even though in valet mode DEI products on my side still function fully with the exception of the siren.

I found the same results as T&T Tech. I tested the 5701 in my work truck. Pressed the F button twice and then the unlock, Blue LED on, Ignition on, LED off. Arm the unit,LED ON, open the door, no siren. Remote start function still works while in valet mode.

Then I apologise to the three of you, with Clifford GX product (different software) you only had lock and unlock for obvious reasons and they were logical, with DEI, who knows.

Ya, its definitely not in Valet mode, after following the first response it did go into valet mode as indicated by the response on the remote. I took it back out of valet mode and LED is still blue all the time(everything else works, lock/unlock, remote start, ignition kill, etc..). I'm in the middle of exams so don't really have time to mess with it right now.
If I do unplug power to it, will it loose it settings?
Thanks
