Installing a Avital 4103 in a 05 Mercury mariner... I see some conflicting information on lock and unlock wires. Saw just straight neg and neg with resistors.. Just want to prewire everything before I get the truck.. anyone have experience with this SUV???? Thanks in advance!!!!

Locks are easy on this car, no resistors needed. These wires are located in the drivers kick in the harness running down from the dash to the floor. There are 2 harnesses, its the one to the left, closer to the door opening. Just wire like this:

Remote Starter      Car
Lock Wire           Factory Arm Wire - WHITE/ Purple
Unlock Wire        Lock/unlock wire - Pink/White
Disarm wire        Factory Disarm Wire - Blue/light green

Also in this harness is Brake - Light Green

The 2nd Harness to the right has:
Positive Parking Lights - Brown
Constant 12 volts - Black(thick 10gauge wire)

In order to get to the ignition wires, you need to take off the steering wheel shroud. To take off the shroud, you need to remove the key cylinder. Its real easy to do and only takes a few seconds. Here is a link that tell you how to remove the key cylinder. Its from a Ford Crown Vic, but its the same procedure for the Mariner. Just scroll to the bottom of the link, where the Pictures are.

Oh and tach is on the firewall. The PCM is mounted right in the middle of the firewall. It has three plugs on it. The first plug to the left(passenger side) has a WHITE/ pink in its harness. This is your tach.
