Hi, i just recently installed a remote starter on a 2005 Kia Amanti, everything works fine as far as the bypass (556UW) and doorlocks (xpresskit XK09), the problem i have now is the power windows don't work now, does anyone know what i can do to make them work again? it seems like they are locked somehow and will not operate under any circumstances, i have tested all the fuses in the driver's side, disabled the lockout switch (child safe), inserted the ignition key, closed all doors. if anyone can help me with this i would really appreciate it.

thanks, John

Any power at the switches? Or look at driver's door tube.
Did you install window closers? And did they work initially?

yes there is power, i jumped one of the wires in the switch (with a test light to ground) and it operated only the driver side door, as soon as i released the jumper, the window went back up all by itself without touching any buttons.

could it by some kind of lockout feature by the computer or something?

Up each switch at each door for 30 seconds then reverse the procedure, see if that works, also check switch grounds, should be less than 2 ohms between the switch ground (black?) and the battery neg.
Your test only made sure the window was working, that's not a power test, use a DMM.

Hi, sorry for the long delay, i did try the procedure you asked me to do with holding each switch at each door up for 30sec and then down for 30sec, nothing changed, i noticed that i couldn't arm the vehicle anymore (lock with a key from outside when i'm sitting in the car and wait for 60 seconds and then manually unlock and open the door, the alarm didn't go off), i am planning on doing the test with a DMM today to check for the 2 ohm reading that you suggested.

thanks, John
