Base model,2007 RAV4. R/S works fine, the door locks do too as long as the door is open. When the door is open you can lock/unlock the doors just fine. Shut the door and it will lock, but NO unlock. Pink and black wires are the colors I used in the kick panel,12 pin plug. Can one of you professionals guide me in the right direction ? Thanks !

Did you try double pulse from the starter to unlock???

R/S start unit only has single pulse.

What model r/s do you have? Most have an option in the programming menu for double pulse unlock. Its very rare to find one that doesn't because there are quite a few cars that require a double pulse to unlock. The only other way would possibly be to do it through a relay setup, but it won't be easy.

Don't laugh now,it's a Ready Remote 23927 made by Design Tech which is now owned by DEI I believe. So would having the door open come into play?,Remote lock/unlock work great. But shut the door,it will lock, but not unlock.  The lock and unlock  is 400mA output on the R/S unit-2 outputs of course.

From what I can find, it looks like you are stuck wiring up your own double pulse system... which may be a pain. I'll see if I can find something to help you out...

What wires are you using for the locks? According to DEI, you have to go into the driver's door and use the factory alarm arm/disarm wires. The wires in the kick panel are only used if the factory alarm wires do not function the locks while the vehicle is running. But the disarm/unlock still requires a double pulse to unlock. My only guess would be that MAYBE you can pulse both the disarm and the driver kick panel unlock at the same time... but thats a long shot.

I went by the 2008 wiring and the lock I used is pink and the unlock I used is black at 12 plug-driver kick panel, pin 4 and 9 I believe.  Bulldogs 2007 wiring says something different for the lock and unlock wires. What does lght.blue to blue mean ? The wire color changes after the plug on one side or the other ?  Thanks !!!

Usually if it says A to B then the colors change. Here is the info from DEI:
Factory Alarm Arm      blue (driver door key cylinder)      -      driver kick, white 12 pin plug, pin 4

Factory Alarm Disarm      pink (driver door key cylinder)      double -      driver kick, white 12 pin plug, pin 9

Power Lock      pink      -      driver kick, white 12 pin plug, pin 3
Note: This wire is only needed if the door locks do not function with the aftermarket system while the vehicle is running. All other times just use the factory alarm arm wire.

Power Unlock      black      -      driver kick, white 12 pin plug, pin 8
Note: This wire is only needed if the door locks do not function with the aftermarket system while the vehicle is running. All other times just use the factory alarm disarm wire.

After re-reading it, I realized that they are all in the driver kick. I originally read the "driver door key cylinder" and at quick look thought it said thats where it was.

Key sense required?

I didn't think they were on the 07 but it is a very good possibility. I would look into that before trying to wire up that relay setup.

Think I would try finding the Unlock wire coming in from the passenger door in the Passenger Kick Panel.
While you will have to solder an extension onto the R/S's Unlock output wire to make the extra distance,
you will only need a single pulse to unlock all doors.

Soldering is fun!

For a 2007 RAV4, the unlock/disarm should be pink, pin 9 in the 12 pin white plug in the driver's kick.  This is the key cylinder unlock wire, and will unlock all doors and disarm the factory security system with a double pulse.   Bulldog has it listed as:

POWER UNLOCK PINK to LIGHT GREEN (TYPE B) (Requires Double Pulse) IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL, 12-Pin Plug, Pin 9

To generate a double pulse if your system doesn't support double pulse outputs, you would use a DEI 452T doorlock pulse generator--fairly simple to use.  Here is the link: DEI 452T Double Pulse Generator

You should also be able to use a single pulse to the pink wire listed above for disarm/no unlock.

Or use an aux or trunk release on the R/S if there is one to generate the -going 2nd. unlock.
There that's about 3 answers so far.

Thanks for the replies !!  First I will check the unlock wire in vehicle and make sure I have the right wire. I have a 2007 Tacoma and the unlock requires a double pulse to unlock all doors. I just push the unlock once and it unlocks driver door and push unlock again right after the driver door unlocks and the rest unlock. Same with my wifes 2005 Rav4. Which I don't mind it working that way. I just figured this one would be the same, I must have the wrong unlock wire. It's my dads Rav that I'm working on so this coming weekend Im gonna take a look at it. I will let you guys know what I find out. Thanks again !

Some units will allow you to press twice, but will require almost perfect timing. I noticed on a compustar that I did that you couldn't just press it twice, you had to press it once, then as soon as the parking lights stopped flashing you had to press it again within a second or so. Timing was a pain. But I would still check your connections.

Well I ran the unlock wire over to the passenger side and now have single pulse lock and single pulse unlock. But the darn thing only works correctly if one of the front doors is open. Could it have something to do with the dome light being on is why it works ? Because soon as I shut the door and lock it and then try to unlock I get nothing. I fixed my 2007 Tacoma this morning by runnning the unlock wire to the passenger and now it unlocks fine on a single pulse but this 2007 RAV4 is irritating me.

Did you try pressing the button twice to signify a double pulse?

Thats very odd. I don't remember ever having issues with those. Did you switch the wires to the ones I posted earlier? Also, I don't remember, is it locking and not unlocking or do neither work?

I think I realized my dumb*** mistake. Don't get the same reading on the test light by using the lock/unlock button inside the RAV as I do when I use the key in the drivers door. I guess it does make a difference when your trying to locate the correct wires. Lesson learned, from now on the key will be used in the drivers door rather than just pushing the switch on the door panel to get my readings. Make sense to you guys ?
