Hello,

I have a 2007 Saturn VUE and have ordered an Autopage C3RS730LCD alarm/remote starter/door lock kit. As I understand it, the VUE uses a Passlock 2 system and I will need a bypass immobilizer.

After numerous emails and calls to Autopage with no response, I tried calling idatalink. After waiting over 30 minutes the technical support was not very helpful and confused me more. He said I would have to buy an Orange box idatalink which is pre-programmed. He said the green boxes have to be programmed. Well I signed up for an account since I technically own a technology business so we will see if I am approved.

Now I am trying to decide which box I need. There is this one, https://www.amazon.com/Autopage-ADSALCA-Immobilizer-Bypass-Doorlock/dp/B001983S0Q/ and then there is this one https://www.amazon.com/Data-Immobilizer-Bypass-Module-ADSTB/dp/B00197YK5O. There is a $20 difference so I want to make sure either will work as long as I can flash.

Do I need anything else or need to know anything else to have this installed?

Both do the same thing. Its just a matter of which one you want to get. If you get the ADS-ALSL-GM you will not need to program it. Do you have the idatalink updater cable? You will need it in order to program the bypasses. They do not just simply plug into your computer... you must have the adapter cable.

Thank you for that info. This alarm is starting to become more and more expensive. Hah. Since I will only be doing this on one car, maybe I should get the preprogrammed or go for the Bulldog which includes the bypass.

Bulldog vs Autopage. Would you consider one better than the other?

I have not had good experience with either. I haven't had any experience with Autopage, but have seen some Bulldog brains go bad.

Thank you. Would this be the correct Immbolizer for my car? https://www......com/item_36183_idataLink-ADS-DLSL-GM1.html

The link doesn't work, but going by the description, it looks like it is. If you go on idatalink.com you can put your vehicle in and it will give you the exact options for bypass modules.

Here try this link

For whatever reason their site confused me. Gives me 6 different options. They list "ADS-ALSL GM" but not the ADS-ALSL GM1

The ADS-ALSL GM will handle the locks and Factory Alarm ( if equipped ).  Makes things a little easier.  Just connect the ADS-ALSL GM
in the W2W mode.  No ADS USB cable necessary as it comes pre-loaded.  Very reliable unit.

Bulldog remote starters are pretty reliable ( when installed properly ) but very limited in options / features.  They do have issues
detecting a weak Tach signal.

Does the 1 at the end on the product number matter?

Yes.

Actually it is ADS DLSL GM1 and ADS ALDL GM.  The ADS ALDL GM will work on the 2007 Saturn Vue while the ADS DLSL GM1
won't.  The only Saturn the ADS DLSL GM1 works on is the Relay.  The Solo Series in the orange box come preloaded with
firmware while the green box Multi Series require the USB cable and dealer access for the firmware download.  The Blade
modules are only used with newer Compustar units.

Thank you I ordered the correct one now from an Amazon reseller. Thank you for your help!

Hmm... would the GM1 not work on an 08 Cobalt? I had a problem with the 08 Cobalt I did last weekend and the bypass would not program to the car... I wonder if that was the problem...

Hi Kenny,

Just looked it up on their WEB site and don't see it listed for the 2008 Cobalt, only the ADS ALSL GM in the Solo series.  Which install guide is listed on the box?

I don't have it with me anymore. And I'm not 100% sure which install guide I used. Do you have a link to the GM install guide? I can go off that and compare it to the actual connections I made.

If you have the Install Guide number from the side of the box, you can go to this WEB address
( https://www.idatalink.com/support/helpdesk ) and look it up directly.  They only show the
latest firmware when you look up a vehicle but prior versions might do work if you follow that
F/W versions earlier guide.  The current Guide number for the ADS ALSL GM V1.1 module is #2468.

The ADS ALSL GM comes preloaded with the ADS ALSL GM firmware.  This is a very broad based firmware
that covers many vehicles.  However, if you have the ADS USB cable and access, you can load other
flavors of firmware that are more vehicles specific and in some cases actually cover other vehicles.
Case in point, the ADS TBSL KO covers most Ford/Mazdas, Toyota/Lexus, Honda/Acura, Hyundai/KIA but
you can re-flash that module to handle some Nissans ( ADS TBSL NI ) or GM vehicles ( ADS TBSL GM ).
