Anyone know of another way to properly shutdown/prepare a manual transmission vehicle to remote startand get into MTS Mode? I installed a clifford 4112x in an 2002 7.3l diesel f-350 with a manual trans w\o factory remote, however, keeps getting 7 flashes, switched to auto trans and starts fine. hooked up tach wire to grn wire at connector on l\h v\cover and programmed to tach. bypassed clutch switch, intalled nss wire to e-brake,cannot seem to figure out what is not wired correctly, thinking maybe not performing shutdown procedure correctly how the owners manual states.

followed MTS procedure, eng. running, set braking brake verify light on,press and release brake pedal, press start button on remote, wait 20 sec.,press and release brake again, parking lights won't flash, and go to remove key and vehicle dies.still flashes 7 flashes on shutdown diag.

Try it without the 2nd brake pedal press. I think that you just have to hold the remote start button until the LED on the valet comes on and then get out, shut the door, and lock it. On most units if the brake pedal is pressed again it deactivates the sequence...

Did you connect the door trigger input to the starter? Also verify your ebrake connection. I don't know the clifford starters very well.

violet wire (pos.) trigger tied into door ajar light wire blk\blu in l\kick panel,e-brake connected to NSS input wire blk\wh wire fr. module. How does door trigger tie into starter? If it starts in auto mode, does that mean that all inputs ie; hood, door, brake pedal,e-brake, etc. are working properly? Why doesn't  the LED light turn on  when pressing remote  when setting into MANUAL MODE?

if it starts in auto mode than that only rules out the hood, foot brake, and e-brake (since it is connected to the NSS). It does not guarantee anything with the door trigger. I would verify that you aren't seeing a ground on the (-) door input and that you are only seeing a (+) on the violet input when the door is open. Or you can disconnect the door trigger temporarily and see if you can get the LED to turn on.

Other than that, I'm at a loss. I would maybe try calling Clifford and seeing if the sequence is correct. I had that problem on a Python 1401 I did recently because it was a factory refurbished and instead of a 1401 they sent me a 4102P or something like that so the MTS was completely different.

I was told that the clifford 4112x is the same as other brands like python and viper? Mine also is a refurbished unit could it be the wrong info? I'll check the door trigger, can I disconnect the violet wire to see if it works?Do I need to ground it?

no, the violet is a (+) door trigger. You can just simply disconnect it to at least see if you can get the LED to light. On the python unit i recently did, the sequence was:
Car in neutral
Foot on foot brake
engage e-brake
Foot off foot brake
press and release remote start button (parking lights flash 5x)
remove key, vehicle stays running.
Open door.
Close door.
Lock car
Car shuts off.

You can disconnect the violet just enough to see if you can get the LED to illuminate or the parking lights to flash. Then once you get to that point, reconnect the violet and see if it still works. If not, then you know the door trigger isn't working properly.
