Subject: Directed 530t for 2006 Hummer H2
Date Posted: January 02, 2012 at 1:33 PM
Hello All,
New to the site and I would like to know if anyone out there has experienced a problem installing the Directed 530T for the H2 Hummer. I have a 2006 model H2 and currently I have installed the Viper 5901. It works flawlessly but I cannot find out what wires to tap into so I can connect two 530T's for roll-up/roll-down of my 4 door windows. I have tried to tap the wires in the front drivers door and I can't get a trigger that works for either door right now. I am trying to avoid running 2 or 4 wires directly from the doors, up to the front drivers door where I will have both 530T's located.
Please let me know if you have a workable solution, schematic or whatever has worked for you. Looking forward to great replies......

In a nutshell you use the orange GWA wire on the R/S to the orange on each 530 and an aux to the RED / white.
Make sure the grounds go back to the vehicle body and feed the closers via either one or two heavier gauge wires directly from the battery, each fused at 30 amps at the battery.
Ground, either at existing ground point in the vehicle or at the battery.
Make your connections in EACH door between the switch and each motor.
This is according to the instruction manual a type "A" or type "1" layout, i.e. switched negative at rest.

Howie II,
Thanks for that information. I will be pulling my door panels again to take another stab at it. I will post results soon either way.... Thanks again... "True Clarity" This means that I WILL have to run wire from each door, up to the two 530'ts...right?

metz35,
Thanks for the layout! This helps greatly.... Between you and "Howie II", I think I have all I need. As I said, I was trying to avoid going to each door to run 2 wires up to the 530T's but there no way around it. I will posts results either way. This is the last thing I want to do with the Viper 5901.

Yes, I know it's a right PITA but there are two reasons.
A lot of Japanese and European vehicles use a data signal from the driver's door to processors in the other doors, "strange wiring" at each switch and no motor wires in the driver door entry cable at the driver's kick panel to connect to.
Secondly to ensure "one-shot" operation at all switches it's essential to wire between the "last" switch and the actual motor.
Also this keeps the 530t in the vehicle rather in the door where it's better protected against the elements.

Howie II,
Sound good. I am actually living in Greece right now and if I had a certified Viper technician, I would not hesitate to have them do it but I don't have that luxury. I do have some experience with car audio and alarms (Very Basic). Here's another question for you: what gauge wire is best to use on these wire runs? I was thinking 12 or 14 gauge. Also is this 4 wires from each door to the 530t's?

2 x 12 (motor side) and 2 x 18 or 20 (switch side) for each door.
Venture away from North America, the UK, Israel or Russia* and you can forget any competence in the required skills. DEI to have a research centre in either Romania or Bulgaria.
Here in London, I've done cars for people from all over Europe and the middle East.
* Most East Europeans have the skills, it's the knowledge base that's missing, Germans and French are hopeless.

Thank for all the information you've provided. This has answered everything I've been bangin' my head about. I called a "supposedly" certified DEI technician in Atlanta Ga. and he assured me that there was absolutely NO need to run the wires from each door, up to the 530t's to achieve roll up/roll down for all 4 windows! He said he's done this on H2 Hummer'd before! I'm going to call him when I get home from work today and tell him that he's full of it because he siad I could go right off of the drivers door window control module.
Hopefully this won't interfere with my normal operations for the windows.....

No it won't DEI actually mention going straight to the motors if you want to retain one-shot at all the switches, has he ever read the install manual?

Howie II,
I found a single cable with four 12 gauge wires inside today at a hardware store and I was wondering would this be useful in this setup for the 530t's? I want to not have
a bunch of individual wires scattered or tape rapped. Oh - and I'm making that call to the installer in Atlanta that gave me the bad information.

Of course you were with that name, the old folks?
France, beautiful country, beautiful food, awful people and cars.
Except in Provence, probably the Italian influence.
I must be getting really senile, I can't find the last Metz post for which this is the reply! ------------- Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.

Howie II,
Man.....so called to tell the fella in Atlanta a thing or two about the instructions he gave me and he still swears by the details he provided for the installation of the two 530t's for the 06' Hummer H2. He even double checked and looked it up again on "Direct Wire". He said is it is 100% possible to tap directly into the driver door window control module with both 530t's and achive positive results.
I then go and call the car audio dealer where I recently purchased all my High-End Audison equipment and he siad basically the same thing. He also provided a Direct Wire Vehicle information datashee for the 2006 Hummer H2 seen below.
Now i'm frickin' afraid to go in there and jack something up!

His info is OK if you don't need one-shot at the satellite switches. If you don't then wire it their way, if you do mine. The instruction manual says this as well, it's entirely up to you.
You could pick up the other three windows in the driver kickwell, you still have to go into the driver's door though.
