Does anyone know of any service/app and/or module that exists in which a user can use an iphone to send a signal (by cellular, wifi, bluetooth, or other, not that important at this point) to a module in a vehicle that simply recieves the singal and sends a short ground pulse? I'm trying to do something similiar to how a smartstart works, just with alot simpler design than the smartstart uses.
Any info would be usefu
The only thing that i have seen that does that is the compustar drone. What are you exactly trying to do?
Well ya see, and we don't need to get ito the technical details or the solution really, because i already know the solution. but you can't use a DBALL (or any other) module on D2D and still use a smartstart. you have to go w2w with it because they use the same port on some systems (Viper 3000 in my case) but one is D2D and one is ESP, and the main start systems box won't speak both languages at once. BUT if you were to wire the dball d2d, and get some iphone app activated module to send a short ground pulse to the test wire ("Activation Input"). the vehicle would start, send it again, the vehicle shuts off... you could bypass the smartstart alltogether. with 2 ground pulse options you could lock/unlock, 3 you could...etc,etc.
Basically I'm wized you can't use the dball in d2d with a smart start, and i'm trying to find away around it. Not because i'm lazy and don't want to w2w the dball.... i just feel you should be able to use d2d and a smartstart together.
I am still confused on what you want to do but the drone provides negative door lock outputs and remote start activation outputs including 2 negative aux outputs. And also, you have a viper 3000?? you mean the LED remote viper????
Eric this subject comes up about every three months and the poster thinks they have a way round it. Yet to see it though.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.
