I recently bought a '97 Tacoma which had an aftermarket security system installed by a friend of the previous owner. I don't use it much, but the other day I charged the battery after jump starting a friend's car, and set the security system off. It seemed to have activated the starter kill switch which I believe is leaving the starter solenoid engaged. It makes a horrible grind if I try to turn it over, but seems to still be getting power to the starter. The remote and valet switch don't seem to have any effect and there are no buttons, manufacture's brand or model number on the unit. The wires do go to four separate relays after the main security box. Does anyone know of a common technique for resetting this function? Thank you in advance for any insight!

Look to the wires at ignition switch .There is a black wire (starter wire),probable this wire is cut a goes to a relay disconnect this relay and connect both ends of the black wire. Remove fuses from remote starter.
