Depends on which company you prefer to go with. I prefer idatalink or fortin but its up to you.
Xpresskit: DLPKGM (or DB-ALL if you can get the firmware programmed)
idatalink: ADS-DLSL GM1
Fortin: Evo-All

Due to the door locks, go with the iDatalink ADS AL CA flashed with DBI-AL(DL)-GM1
or the ADS DL flashed with DBI-DL-GM1.  It will handle more than just the Passlock2
and go 2-way D2D in DBI mode with only two wires to hardware from the bypass module.

I thought the ADS-DLSL-GM1 did handle more than the Passlock??? It also comes pre-flashed so you should have to worry about getting it flashed... no??

Correct, Kenny, the ADS DLSL GM1 is the full featured  Solo Series module. Comes pre-flashed with the GM1 firmware but I believe the D2D communications is ADS iDatalink RS-232 and not DBI.  As such, it can be connected D2D to the ProStart unit but in 1-way ADS iDatalink mode, while the Multi Series modules, flashed with DBI GM1 firmware, will go D2D in 2-way DBI mode.  There are programming options on the ProStart brain to select whch bypass communcations to use ( Fortin Data-Link, ADS iDatalink or DEI DBI  ).  You would still need the special ADS HRN DBI harness to make the D2D connection.

For what it's worth, I'm with you.  Use the ADS DLSL GM1 in W2W mode.  posted_image  Works every time...

Yea, sorry... I never really pay attention to D2D modes. To me its just as easy and a ton more reliable to go W2W. It can almost always be done during the prep at the bench and takes only a few minutes... but saves from the possibility of a bunch of headaches.

On a side note though. I wouldn't mind if the D2D output had positive, ground, and status output so that I could make a quick connection for those main 3 and save a few wires.

The Ultra Start units have that very plug.  Just +12V, ground and GWR.

Yea, but I personally don't like Ultra Starts... I wish Compustar would start doing it.

How did you make out with this install? I installed the Prostart in my 06 silverado crew cab with the Expesskit PLJX bypass and could not get the door locks to work with the prostart key fob. I tried another bypass the Omega DB-GMDL-BP and still have the same problem. I would be happy to know the solution to which bypass actually works with the door locks or if there is something different about the wiring not mentioned in the prostart instructions.
Thanks for any suggestions.
