clifford arrow ii woes

recently purchased a P30 Grumman that has a Clifford Arrow II alarm.
When I got it, it was set on Valet so the alarm was not in operating mode.
When I set the alarm, it triggers after 30 seconds. I reset and it will do it again. Seems like no matter what i do it trips after 30 seconds.

I have one hood switch that appears to be good. tested it and have no ground when the hood is closed. I have one interior and one exterior siren that both work when tripped. All other options are not used.

I have two Proximity sensors. One at the front and one at the back of the interior. One proxy switch lights when a wave in front of it. The other does not. I have removed both and switched them to test the wiring. Appears the wiring is good and the one proxy sensor may be failed.

I do not know enough about proxy sensors. Do they need each other to work?
I tried the alarm with the proxy switch removed. Still tripped after 30 seconds.

Will a proxy switch removed, or, a proxy switch that does not light up cause this type of failure?

All the wiring appears to be good. No shorts or open circuits. I am very comfortable working with electrics. just not familiar with auto alarms.

Any help would really be appreciated. I have $50,000 worth of stock i'd like to keep :-)

To add. The Proxy sensors are three wire. Black, red, orange
P30 is a 1998 Chevy P30 with a Grumman body on it

If the alarm still tripped with the proxy sensors disconnected then its probably not them causing the issue. How is the door trigger connected? Is it through the door pin or the domelight. Try locking it and watch the domelight. See if the alarm trips when the domelight goes out or if there is a link between them.

No door trigger.

This is a stepvan (like a UPS truck). Sliding door on passenger side not wired to the alarm.

Only hood and 2 proxys

I disconnected the hood trigger to test. Alarm still sounded.

Set up a DMM between the alarm's red 12v+ input and it's black ground wire, set it to 20VDC, and check the voltage. It should be around 12.4 and stay on that voltage.
Don't forget the unit is about 15 years old.
Door trigger wire (grey) might have worked loose and be grounding.

I did disconnect the trigger (at the switch) from the gray wire to test. It is certainly possible that the wire is grounding en route. I will disconnect the gray wire at the brain and see if the problem cures.

Question.
if i disconnect all triggers at the brain. The hood switch and the 2 proxys.
Leaving only the led light, sirens and the valet switch connected, will the system still operate or will it sense a malfunction? This way I can test the very basics and determine if the brain is at fault.
