Hi,i'm very new to installing, just a hobby so forgive me for a prob simple question,i've finished installing most of the wiring for my alpine sec-100 alarm, but don't know the best place to mount the sensor! It's in a '99cavalier. I'm thinking just screw it underside the dash, but will it pick up very good there?

You know what?....I've read so many posts about this that I don't know whether or not to tell you that the best place is to zip-tie it to a piece of metal....or to a bunch of wiresposted_image I have mine on a group of wires, and it works fine. You may want to try Searching the forums for this exact topic, and I'm sure you'll find a lot of suggestions.

I searched like hell and didn't come up with anything, sorry.

I tried everything like 'impact location' 'sensor location' 'locate sensor and on and on,and got zero results which i though was unusual.....

Thanks though!

Remove the driver's kick panle plastic and screw the sensor to the metal on the side. This is where I usually install it.

i think the easiest and effective way is to tie it to a bunch of wires. i actually was bored and tested different places to my car.

try doing shock sensor instead of impact sensor.
Here's a little of what I found.
