Hello

I had a compustar 2w8000fmasf installed in my 09 Mazda 3 (Manual)
The installer bypassed the clutch by connecting the wires together instead of using a bypass off the alarm unit so my ECU is throwing a P0704. I would like to correct this myself as I understand you can install either a relay or just a wire to not completely bypass the clutch, but only when the starter is trying to remote start teh car.

Does anyone have any information on the 09 Mazda 3 wiring and / or the wiring of the Compustar alarm?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Take any 4 or 5 pin relay and wire it as follows:
Pin 85 - 12v constant (fused)
Pin 86 - (-) 200ma 2nd Starter output from alarm (I believe its RED / black but check to be sure)
Pin 30 - one of the wires at the clutch switch
Pin 87 - the other wire at the clutch switch
Pin 87a - no connection.

And if they are willing to take shortcuts like that I wouldn't trust the rest of the installation. That is a major safety hazard and if I were you I would be bringing it back to them and telling them to either fix it right or pull it out and give you a refund.

shouldn't require a relay.

Gray/Black (+) @ driver kick panel. connect start wire to this and it bypasses clutch during start.

I did just that on a 2006 Tacoma a few weeks ago and it kept blowing the STA 7.5amp fuse under the hood. He said that it seemed to do it anytime he would manually press the clutch when it was remote started (not sure why he was, but he was). So that is why I use a relay. Luckily he had some automotive knowledge otherwise he would have been stranded since that fuse won't allow the vehicle to start even with a key when blown.

Does anyone know where I can find wiring diagrams for either the alarm and the car?

Thanks

Go to downloads and look for cm5000 or cm6000 install manual. One will match your brain
