I am going to be using the idatalink ADS-DLSL CA2 on a 2010 Accord this weekend. in the idatalink instructions it shows the starter wire output from the r/s to the ADS-DLSL CA2. It does not show the starter output going to the starter wire in the car. Fortin and DEI dont show doing this. I do have to connect the starter wire to the vehicle also, correct. I mean Honda's dont start through data. It also shows a 12v constant and ground coming directly from the remote start to the bypass. but then shows a white wire from the bypass directly to vehicle ground. why? I have been using the DBALL and am switching to idatalink, but this is confusing me. Why is the bypass wanting these wires directly from the r/s. Obviously the r/s does not have 12volt and ground ouputs so it is really coming from the vehicle. but why two grounds to the bypass?

for a user with 3 stars and silver rating, i find it surprising you dont get the diagram.

the remote start wires acc, ign, start must be connected to the vehicle.
the 12v and ground coming from the remote start, to the bypass is just indication power can be grabbed at the unit or means of other connections. the bypass takes 2 grounds for 2 reasons. 1)power for the actual module, 2) to determine polarity of the autolight shutdown, which is connected to the driver door pin, or you can get this at the headlight switch. the start/ign connections from the ads are just wires "tapping" into the main wires

there is a full pictorial in downloads for an 09 accord i did a while back. that will help you out as there are pictured wire diagrams.

I guess it was a long day. I really knew logically that the wires still needed to be connected to the vehicle. I was just printing the instructions off, not even going to look at them till Saturday, and then caught the starter wire going to the bypass from the r/s. Just not familiar with idatalinks wire diagram i thought i would ask the dumb question expecting some critisizm for being an "idiot" . After taking a break from the copmuter and diagrams, I realized that I was just way over thinking things. Thanks for the information Tedmond and not calling me a total idiot for my lack of comprehension.

Pretty simple car (an hour time) and ALOT of space. Both modules can fit to the left of the steering column.  Brake and horn are high in the kick panel. p lights on top of column. Dont have to do unlock then relock cause the bypass does it. Thats about it.
