2008 Honda Accord, Viper 5501 and DBALL (D2D)

Recently installed and all works well except the status feedback to the remote seems to be hit and miss. Is this a typical problem with the remote fob?

Example: I remote start the car. I hear the car start. The display scrolls the "remote start" text, but doesn't show the icon indicating that the car is successfully started nor the remaining countdown minutes. This example is intermittent as sometimes this all works as expected.

I've also noticed that the locked\unlocked status is often incorrect. The car is locked\armed but the LCD indicates that it isn't.

Pretty small issues, but wondering if I'm alone on this..

As far as locks, this is common of 2-way remotes. Say you lock the doors with the remote and open the vehicle with the key. The remote only know what you do with the remote. If the doors are locked and the remote says unlocked just hit unlock on the remote. As far as the starter goes, you are either to far away for the car to transmit back to the remote or the signal is being blocked by something between you and the car. Also a kinked antenna wire, loose connection with the antenna wire at the antenna or brain can cause 2-way communication issues. Also the remote could be defective. I would start by swapping the remote then move down the line and trace it by process of elimination.
