Hello everyone. I have been looking here into the forums and have found an massive amount of help; however, I haven't able to find the answer to this problem.
My car (1996 Honda accord) has this safety mechanism where the driver's door will only lock/unlock using the key (from outside). Also, locking the driver's door (from outside) locks all doors and holding the key to the unlock position unlocks all doors. I got my keyless entry system to work, but due to the driver's key-only lock/unlock feature, the driver's door will not lock/unlock with the remote. My question is, is there a way around this so that I can lock/unlock ALL doors with the remote?

It's not a feature. It's called your Actuator in the drivers door is bad.

That is a safety feature on most Honda vehicles. It is designed like that so you can not lock the key inside. However, you can lock the door without the key. If you open the door and hold the inside latch about 1/2 stroke, it will allow the door to lock using the switch on the door. Some Honda models did require adding an actuator in the driver's door. I am pretty sure you should not have to add one on that accord.

If his door pin was busted it would cause this also. If the car thought the door was always open.

All Euro and most Japanese have this feature, it stops you slam locking the car with the keys inside.
It might be that like the Euro sold versions of the 3 door and coupé mid nineties there was no actuator* just a switch in the driver's door.
We always had to add an actuator to that model.
Known here as single point locking if no actuator and multipoint if there was.
Poster, shut the car and slowly flick the driver's door inside lock, see if you can hear a motor. The other give away is that you can only lock/unlock the passenger door from the passenger side.

Thank you both for your replies. I will try to hold the latch 1/2 stroke. It might be that the actuator is bad because I have read that a lot of people hearing a loud noise coming coming from the (driver's) door means that the actuator is broken. Mine does make quite a bit of noise but I didn't pay attention to it since all the doors lock and unlock with the exception of the driver's door.
