I am in the middle of wiring in a 1100X bypass module for my 2004 Sequoia. Where can I get access to the IMI and IMO wires. The Directed manual says the BCM computer is located to the right of the steering column, behind the radio area. I look there and there are no computers only some wiring connectors plugged into what looks like junction blocks. Bulldogsecurity.com website] said that the BCM is actually above the drivers side kick panel as well as the ECM - I do see a blue computer box there but have absolutely no way to access it without removing the ebrake pedal and more. Then I found another website that said the ECM is behind the glovebox, I dropped the glovebox down and it definitely looks like the ECM is there.

Has anyone wired a 2004 Toyota Sequoia that can give me a definitive answer as to where I can pick up these 2 wires.

OK i got it wired in at the ECU with info I found online here.

So now it starts and runs for about 3-5 seconds then turns off and tries to restart but fails. The security light stays off the whole time.

Only think I didn't wire in from the bypass was the wire to turn off the security light, which I read was not necessary.

Any ideas?

Forgot to mention that it remote starts fine with the key in the ignition.

Sounds like a bypass issue.Did you verify the correct connection of the IMI/IMO wires? Did the programming go through all the steps fine when programming the bypass?

On the Idatalink bypass, if the cut IMI wire is wired backwards it will start but shut off after 3 seconds. Try reversing the IMI wires....

Program goes as listed in the instructions. Set the program mode to 2, hold until it goes solid green and turns off. INsert key and start - LED turns on Solid green and shuts off.

When I press the remote starter button, the unit turns on and the led flashes green and it starts successfully and runs for 3 seconds and turns off and attempts to restart unsuccessfully.

I just pulled out the gauge cluster to wire in the security light wire and found the transponder computer behind it. I am going to try and wire in the unit there instead of at the ECU.

I will report back.

I doubt this is it because you said it works fine with the key, but have you checked tach programming?

ALso, try starting it with the key head near the cylinder (but not actually inserted). This will tell you if possibly it is a keysense connection requirement.

So you mean that I have the connector side IMI and the car side IMI backwards?
I will check it tomorrow. I gave up on it today.

Exactly. Many of the bypasses instructions are backwards and some issued an addendum and some didnot. Same with the Idatalink piece.

Tried switching the sides of the IMI wire. Still did not work. It wouldn't even program that way. I switched it back and reprogrammed it. Still the same result. Starts - runs for 5 seconds, shuts off, attempts to restart but cranks and cranks. I did notice that the security light does blink on the dash after it kills itself and tries restarting the second time.

Also,
I inserted the key for a startup, after it started I pulled the key out and it stayed running just fine. No key on, security light stayed off. Is this a keysense issue? I have a negative output going to the YELLOW /GREEN keysense wire.

Any other ideas? Is there a factory disarm wire I need to trigger?
