Hello! I have read numerous posts/replies and couldn't find this problem.. anywhere!!

TRUCK: 2004 RAM 3500 Laramie with factory alarm/std/diesel

BYPASS: Fortin EV0-ALL (data didn't seem to work so the CM6 is wired to truck)

The command start works normally. (Doors/factory alarm work properly with double pulse and double relay pack with resistors.)

PROBLEM:

Once the truck is running under it's own power (regardless of command start function); every time the door is closed, the CM6 sends a lock command followed by an unlock command!! (chirp and flash when doors lock and immediately unlock)

This does not happen while the CM6 is powered via remote start. Once I take power (ie: tap the foot brake) then the doors lock/unlock every time the door is closed!

-only the driver door is double dioded (haven't done the rest b/c of problem)
-doesn't happen when the door trigger is removed from circuitry
-tried dome light supervision for door trigger - same problem

I'm stuck! The CM6 is obviously using the door signal to trip the lock then unlock commands!

When I take the door trigger (-) input and leave it open.. the truck is normal. I just GND the trigger when I exit the truck for now to have the CM6 enter reservation mode. Other than that - the unit works normally!

Sorry for the long post, but I hope you have enough info to make a suggestion!!

Thanks in advance!

The CM6 uses the door trigger to trip the reservation mode. You can try getting the programming changed to the 10sec. delay for reservation mode or to utilize the remote start button press to activate reservation mode. Have you noticed if the ebrake was on when this is happening?

Genius.

I took the park brake off and lock command stopped! (I never thought of that since I never open the door when the truck is ready to roll!!!)

I tried the 10sec delay to no avail as well...

I never used a relay for the park brake.. guess I should ??

Thanks for the quick reply!!

Also.. when I set the reservation delay to 10sec, the doors still lock/unlock after 10sec.

When the reservation mode is set to not lock the doors, the reservation mode will not engage! (option 1-06 in programming..)

I guess I'm not quite understanding how it was solved... lol. Were you putting the ebrake on before opening the door? If so then it was seeing all the commands for the reservation mode, but when it would try to shut down the engine the keys would still be in so the ignition wouldn't turn off when it was supposed to. So the unit would see that and automatically unlock the doors. You shouldn't need a relay for the parking brake. It is just an input to the remote start and doesn't need to be anything more than what it is currently.

What exact scenerios are happening that you are opening the doors with the engine still running? If you are not actually exiting the truck (ie just a passenger getting out, etc) then just make sure not to put the ebrake on before the doors are opened. If you are exiting the car but want to leave it running then you will have to either live with it locking / unlocking or set it to activate reservation mode by pressing the remote start button onthe remote.

I think you have it. I leave the diesel idling and get out a lot. (ie: moving trucks around the yard, getting the mail, chasing the dog etc..) It's also -25F here often so you just don't shut your vehicle off every stop!

As for the remote, the manual isn't clear. I set the reservation mode to NOT LOCK and it just shuts off when I remove the key. Didn't know I had to hit a button to activate it.. I'll search some more again!

Thanks for the info!

Well.. the manuals don't tell me how to set reservation mode with the remote manually. In other words, the reservation mode will lock the doors upon closing the door at EVERY time the park brake is on while running, or delay it by 10sec. The option to not have the doors lock will cancel reservation mode. Tried that setup twice.. Sucks.

This system is actually inferior than the Compustar (3000?)I installed a few years ago as far as installation and programming options on a standard tranny Dodge!

I've been using the CM6200s lately and there is an option in the programming menu for the reservation mode. It can either be immediate set after the door is closed, 10 seconds after the final door is closed, or a couple other options; one of which was that you had to press the remote start button on the remote for setting the reservation mode.
I don't know the CM6000 all that well though.. but I would assume it would be similar to the 6200s

I thought so, but my manuals don't specify. It's either instant, 10sec or no lock during reservation. Nowhere does it say to hit a button first!

Ok, so then it must be different than the 6200s. You really don't have too many options (as far as I know). You can either live with how it is, or install a toggle switch on the ebrake signal wire so that you can disable the starter when you don't want it attempting to go into reservation mode.

to set reservation mode with remote: option 1-06 setting 2
Program with remotes and make sure you RTFM or programming can be hard to understand.

how do you have the door trigger wired? to the bypass, or to the vehicle?

the only thing i can suggest of at the top of my head, change option 1-09 to setting 3.
the unit could be in ignition lock, so when you close the door it auto locks when running with the key, but since the vehicle is running, the cars computer tells the doors to unlock. this prevents locked keys inside. give that a shot
