I bought the Python 1401 remote start for my 2000 avalon XLS w/ factory keyless entry. never did this before(remote start installation) What do i need besides the remote start unit itself? do i need the bypass module? will this module work: ebay ?

Do i need relays or diodes? I've been searching but not exactly sure where to start or what all is needed.

This may help answer my question,I want the:
1)Remote start
2)window roll up and down
3)trunk open

Thank you

No relays, a bypass there are many to choose from and 1 or 2 dei 530t for your windows depending on how you do it

First gather as many wiring guides as possible.  They will give you some insight as to what is needed in the way of R/S outputs and functions.

Here is a link to the info from Bulldog Security :  https://www.bulldogsecurity.com/diagrams/printpage.asp?ModelID=15696&MakeID=2

Here is a link to the info from DEI :  https://www.readyremote.com/main.asp?make=Toyota&model=Avalon

There should be info on this site also.  Compare each against the others for differences.

As for a bypass module, the Fortin Key-Override-All or DEI PKALL should work and be easy to find.

The door locks will require relays and diodes and going into the door itself.  In the downloads section, look for DEI  TechTip 1070.  That will explain how to do it.  Bulldog has this info also  :  https://www.bulldogsecurity.com/diagrams/extrainfo/diagrams/14301_AVALON_TOYOTA%20and%20LEXUS%20door%20lock%20interface.pdf    There is a  door lock module available from Directed.  https://www.xpresskit.com/VehicleCompatibility.aspx?p=null&year=2000&make=Toyota&model=Avalon&ps=1&s=0&c=0

That should get you started.

How were you planning on doing the window control. Do the windows roll up and down while holding the key in the lock/unlock position in the driver's door or are you planning on using a window control module?

Here's what you'll need to do the door locks:

Avalon Door locks

(1) Relay, (2) Diodes

As far as the transponder goes make sure there is a immobilizer around the ignition cylinder. If there's no ring than no immobilizer. Also another thing to check is some of the older Toyota's have a Fat-headed key that has a chip in the key and other's have a lot slimmer head without a chip.

If it has a chip I would recommend the idatalink ADS-TB. You can get the install guide here:

ADS-TB Install Guide

As far as trunk release goes, there are no other parts required beside s just hooking the wire from the unit to the wire in the vehicle.

Here's the diagram for the Avalon:

Thank you all for the replies, so i DO need relays and diodes(for the doors lock and unlock functions?) ? And pkall module is okay with my car? It has the chip inside the key, has the immobilizer. And for the windows, hold the lock to close and unlock to roll down. Can i just use the driver side module or have to buy a seperate module?

Okay so i did some research, I decided not to go with the window roll up and down. just the remote start and thats it.

diode isolate aux 1 into unlock to be latched by press and hold and do the same for aux 2 for lock. You can always use a power probe to inject ground into the unlock circuit to see if it will roll the windows up/down. If not, test the wires coming out of the DDM. I've never personally hooked up that feature on that car, but i'm sure its straight forward. good luck!
