I did an 09 Nissan Altima R/S using a Avital 4103 and a DBALL and the car remote starters good and all the features work but 2 things are happening the check engine light is on and everytime the customer turns the car on and puts the car into drive the key symbol turns on, on the dash. Any info is greatly appreciated. I reset the check engine and it came back on after a few hours.

Did you verify both ignitions are being poweRED / activated(one +, one -) and both accessory wires are getting +12v?

It's the wire you have your underhood relay attached to, recheck according the diagram and not the wire color.

yeah i reset the system and now the car light is off. I think the customer did somthing wrong but anyways the only concern is the key light is still lite but only in gear. when the car is parked no key light but when put into drive or reverse the light comes on.

I had the same problem on a 2011 Infiniti QX56. Turned out I forgot the diode on the underhood relay on the neutral safety wire. Hope that helps

It is possible that the vehicle is sensing 2 key signals and it is causing the light to come on. Did you connect the bypass D2D or W2W? If it is connected W2W, then make sure that the blue status output is only showing ground when the vehicle is remote started, and that it is losing ground when the r/s is shut down.

simple fix: check the relay under the hood, or switch to a fortin piece.

i double checked all the wires under the hood and i even changed the relay and the diode. i used a 1 A diode and the light was off for 2 days then back on and when i checked the code it reads safety switch so now im stuck.

You may be better off cutting your losses at this point and picking up the EVO bypass. I used one on a 2010 Nissan a month or so ago and it was very easy... no worrying about the underhood relay. It sounds like you may possibly be having a bad signal with the neutral safety switch possibly?

up to you, buy a new module and replace the dball, or take a loss and rip it all out.

Interrupt the brake solenoid wire at the gear shifter. Check out method #2 on the ADS manual. Turn ignition on and this wire reads like a brake wire circuit. I believe its in a 10-12pin plug in the dash in front of the shifter assembly. The car thinks its being put in gear before it should during takeover and thats why the code is tripping
