I just had a shop install an Avital 5303L remote start alarm in my 2005 Scion xA. Whenever I remote start, the car starts fine but the alarm sounds until I press the unlock button on the remote. Any idea why that would happen? There is no factory alarm system, it's just the Avital aftermarket alarm/RS.

It's the 6 tone siren that goes off.

They have the wrong door trigger.

It's the trunk trigger that is being activated, which is the input for the tilt sensor. So it is being tripped when the car starts, perhaps because of vibration. I'm going to try to adjust the sensitivity so it won't go off during engine start. The installer says he installs but doesn't adjust sensitivity settings. Kinda lame but whatever.

Well, it's not the tilt sensor. I completely unplugged it and it still sounds the alarm when remote starting. But the remote says the Trunk is open and I don't think anything else is connected to that input. :/

a trunk pin and tilt sensor are 2 different things.
disconnect the tilt sensor, and then disconnect the trunk pin wire.

honestly, i'd bring it back and have the installer deal with it.
