I purchased a remote car starter on ebay, it is an xtreme start xr-22 and I do not have the installation manual for the unit.  Can anyone help me out here by directing me to where I can find installation instructions or by contacting the manufacturer to get them?  Thanks.

The item was purchased here:

I cannot help you with your question but I can give you some words of advice. Return that unit and get a quality remote starter. Ebay USUALLY has nothing but junk and you will regret putting it in. The problem is that too many "come and go" manufacturers are starting to make remote starter units and they are doing it with extremely cheap components that will NOT last. I don't know what you paid for that unit, but you can find decent quality units on Amazon.com for around $60.
Just a few examples:
Compustar
Python (DEI)

Either one of those are good units and will save you from MAJOR headaches in the end.

X 2 with Kenny, seen the many problems too often with fleabay.
Strike 1, no installation manual.
Both Kenny and myself could probably help you but it's a no win situation.
In future at least meet us half way, follow the rules and tell us your vehicle, make model, year and very important, whether auto or manual.
Main problem is also the fact that NONE of the major manufacturers including the two above will even honour any of their products sold on fleabay, usually B stock or refurbished, wrong looms, wrong instructions, seen it all here.

Yes, I'm knowledgeable, cynical and facetious, but you can call something a POS without naming it. YOU know what I mean.

from what i see a lot of the sellers on Amazon are the same guys selling on E-Bay,it don't matter which one you buy from your most likely not going to get a warranty from them,so if your going to take a chance and buy from those sites at least buy a known good brand like compustar or DEI.

Yes and no. As with any online retailer of DEI / Compustar, you will not get a warranty since it is not being installed by an authorized shop. However with Amazon I noticed almost every one of my orders (was getting quite a few before converting to Compustar) was a brand new unit. The few I got off ebay were ALL factory refurbished and seemed almost rebadged low quality units to appear as higher quality units.

Orinoco appears to get it's product from legitimate retailers or wholesalers, fleabay appears to have either second hand or "job lot" products, old models refurbished, repaired models.

Thanks for all the input, I realize now that I purchased a real piece of crap.  Had I known better I would have bought something different.
