i have the a viper 5601, it comes with the 1 way remote (7153v). i can't get this thing to come out of automatic keypad locking. the install and owners manuals are completely useless on this. i tried DEI's instructions (hold f until the led goes solid, then hit unlock until the led blinks twice, then hit lock to toggle between keypad lock on/off) and it still locks the keypad.

there's a million different conflicting ways from dei to turn the automatic keypad lock off. viper's website says the way i did it, the manual says this:

< size=5 face=Futura>< size=5 face=Futura>

To program the remote user features:

< lang=KO size=5 face=Futura-Light>< lang=KO size=5 face=Futura-Light>

1. Press and hold the F button on the remote for 12 seconds. (ignore the car indicator at 3 seconds). The remote emits one long beep, and the trasmit LED turns on to indicate the Main Menu.

2. Press and hold the (unlock) button for 1. 5 seconds: The remote beeps two-tmes. You are now in the Remote Configuration menu.

< size=5 face=Futura>< size=5 face=Futura>

To configure the remote control features:

< lang=KO size=5 face=Futura-Light>< lang=KO size=5 face=Futura-Light>

1. Press, and then release the command button. The remote beeps to indicate the feature configuration.

2. Press the (unlock) button to access the Auto keypad lock feature.

3. Press the (lock) button to change the Auto keypad lock feature.

what is the command button??  i'm gonna go insane.

I would try the F button as the command button. Give it a shot.
