08 Audi A6 with Electronic key cylinder

Doing a Clifford Responder One with a DBALL

Car starts, runs for about 3 seconds and then shuts off. I have rewired power for the data line, done wire-to-wire, tried a canmax 400, tried a Compustar 6200 brain wire-to-wire. I'm running out of ideas. No matter what the car will not stay running. With the Canmax is ran for about 1 second, with the dball, or with the key in the ignition and ON, it runs for 3 seconds.

Where do I go from here?

Thanks!!!

what do you have for engine sensing? Tach or voltage? if tach, where do you have it connected?

The problem: you used Xpresskits for your bypass.
Solution: Use a fortin module or idatalink.

Just kidding posted_image, the dball bypasses aren't bad for the money. This is what you need to do. Go to xpresskits.com and make sure you go to the european website, flash/update the module to that firmware. They carry the same version name/flash, however its been coded specifically for euros. Sounds like bs, but try it. It should solve your problems. also how do you have you transponder bypass wired?

And another trick with the Euro section is to use I/Explorer, it doesn't work with Chrome! (From the horse's mouth).
I would also hardwire and program tach.

I could be wrong, but I'm thinking this isn't a bypass / transponder issue. I'm no pro when it comes to Audi's, but if it won't run even with the key in the ignition then I'm thinking its more of a tach issue than bypass...

Possibly with offroadjz here except back in the day it was 15 seconds before shutdown.

I'll try the hardwire tach thing. It's going through data right now I believe. Believe me I would much prefer to use idatalink bypass, but trhey don't have any firmware for this vehicle besides doorlocks and convienence. Nothing for the data key. Thanks for the help, I'll let you guys know what, if anything, works.

yet to see a euro without loosing a key for RS. have you attempted to put the vehicle into pit stop mode? if pit stop doesnt work, you have some problem with the wiring.

Direct wired the tach and programmed the dball on the European site (looked like the identical flash), and it still does the same thing. It starts, runs for a couple seconds, starts to die, runs for another half second of so, and then craps out... Not sure where to go.

Pitstop mode flashes the lights 3 times like it's taking over, then when I take the key out of the ignition it shuts off, but I'm not sure if that's how the module operates. Does the pitstop mode work with this module and the electronic key cylinder? I know it's different than cenventional. I did use a 556U to bypass the transponder chip. I've gone over the wiring countless times. This is literally going to be the first remote start I can't get to work in 18 years doing this. I even tried putting power to the ignition circuit after it's started to see if it was dropping out somehow and that did nothing either. Just hate giving up on a car that I can get to start but then won't stay running. It's just so bizarre.

The 556U, did you use the loop or follow the instructions and wire it Euro style, also did you obtain a valet key from an Audi dealer for the 556 and did they program it for you to pair with the car?

i just pulled up installogy info for it. the ign start and acc wired at the ignition tumbler are for sense only. they tell the computer to power the appropriate circuits. you need to go to the fuse box and look for the larger gauge wires those will be the correct ign and acc wires.

Figured it out finally. The part that was messing with me is I could hotwire the DBALL and it would start and run, but with the remote start connected, it wouldn't. It ended up being that the DBALL was not properly outputting brake signal AND the status output was not strong enough to trigger both the 556U and the DBALL for some reason. I put a relay on the status for a stronger ground and hardwired the brake circuit and all is well now. Works fine. The part that screwed me up and why I didn't figure out that it was the brake sooner is that the car will actually turn on for about 15 seconds by just pulsing the ignition wire, which the Compustar brain would do when it first fired up, but would not keep the ignition circuit powered up because the brake was shutting it down. Stupid problem!!!!!!!!
