I have installed a lot of remote starters before and never had any problems, but this one has been a pain in the but. I have been stumped by this one. I had it working for a day and then it started acting up and now isn't working. This has happened every time I look at it. I'm lost at what to do now. I check all my connections and everything seems to test fine. The one thing that has me stumped is when I was testing the ignition wire (connected at the brake switch) doesn't test like a normal ignition switch. I don't remember exactly how it was testing, but it didn't ever really have a positive signal. Sometimes I would try to start it with the remote and I would wait and then hit the brake pedal and it would start. I don't know if one of the many diodes might be bad or the 1,000 ohm resistor might be bad, but I wasn't sure why it would start and then not work a day after I put it back together. Any ideas where to start?

The remote starter is a DEI python 1400XPL and the bypass is a idatalink ADS-TB-TL. I only hooked up one ignition and I see that in the other tech sheet that has been listed that there are 2 ignitions. Could that possibly be the problem? I wired the ignition to the brake switch which is what the bypass told me to do.

you should always power all ignitions, start and acc wires

Not on this one! You can get yourself into real trouble powering up circuits listed in a tech sheet on a pts car. Follow the guide. The ignition at the brake should test as ignition, this may be where your issue is.

Woops I didn't see pts. You should always follow the guide to the letter. If it fails to start, but works when youpress on the brake you should check the brake bypass
