I'm about to start the installation on 1992 LS400.

Is there any tips or something I need to be careful about?   I will be installing Clifford 6000.

I think I'll run the wires through grommet on the passenger side (behind the glove compartment) to the battery, and also for the siren.

Any tip or help is appreciated. Thanks!

My sister had one of those cars, and I did an alarm/remote start on it, but unfortunately I don't remember too much about it.

I can think of one thing, though. Notice that if you insert the key into one of the doors, and turn it to the lock (or unlock) position, this will also arm (or disarm) the factory Lexus alarm too. And two alarms are better than one, right?

Also, notice that if you turn the key in the passenger's door to the unlock position, all doors unlock at once. But if you do the same in the driver's door, only the driver's door unlocks first, and then if you twist again, they all unlock.

So here's what I'm getting at. Not only should you install your new alarm, but you should make sure to arm (and disarm) the factory one too, for added protection.

You should be sure to connect your alarm's lock output to the wire that tests off the key cylinder in the door.....NOT the one that's coming from the rocker switch on the door panel.

If you want all the doors to unlock at once, use the key-cylinder wire from the passenger door. If your alarm supports two-step unlocking, and that's a feature you want...simply use the wire from the drivers key cylinder instead. One negative pulse will unlock the driver's door; a second pulse will unlock them all.
