Hello all. I am new here and I am stumped. I recently installed an Avital 4103 Remote Start/Keyless entry system on my 2002 Saturn SL2. I have managed to get everything connected and working except for the keyless entry. The wiring diagram says I have type B door lock wires and from what I have read is common with Saturn's. I only have two wires to connect but can't seem to get them to work Correctly.
This is what the manual says:

Door lock harness, 3-pin connector
1 BLUE (-) UNLOCK OUTPUT
2 EMPTY NOT USED
3 GREEN (-) LOCK OUTPUT

This is the wiring Diagram for the car:

POWER LOCK       LIGHT BLUE (TYPE B)       IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL
POWER UNLOCK       WHITE (TYPE B)       IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL
LOCK MOTOR WIRE       GRAY (+)       IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL
DOOR TRIGGER       See NOTE *2       See NOTE *2

NOTE *2 USE GRAY/BLACK (-) FOR THE DRIVERS DOOR AND LIGHT GREEN/ BLACK (-) FOR THE PASSENGER DOOR(S). THE GRAY/BLACK (-) IS LOCATED NEAR THE DIAGNOSTIC PLUG HARNESS UNDER THE DRIVERS SIDE DASH AND THE LIGHT GREEN/ BLACK (-) IS LOCATED IN A BLACK 24 PIN PLUG BEHIND THE FUSEBOX IN THE CENTER CONSOLE. WHEN CONNECTING TO AN ALARM SYSTEM USE ALL (4) DOOR TRIGGER WIRES AND DIODE ISOLATE, TO CONNECT, SEE DIAGRAM.

I am not connecting an Alarm so I was told that the Note doesn't pertain to my installation.

Can someone please tell me how to get this working!!!! Do I need to use relays??? If so how do I wire them???

Thanks For All Your Help

You need to use 2 relays to convert the negative outputs for lock and unlock from the remote starter to positive 12 volt outputs. The light blue and white wires in the car are 12 volt + triggers. Connect as follows. First relay: terminal #85 to the Blue unlock output from the Avital, terminals 30 and 86 to a fused (5 amp)source of battery power, terminal 87 to the White wire in the car. Second relay: terminal #85 to the Green unlock output from the Avital, terminals 30 and 86 to a fused (5 amp)source of battery power, terminal 87 to the Blue wire in the car. If the vehicle has a electric trunk release, you will need to use a relay to convert the negative output from the Avital to a positive one to trigger the wire on the trunk release switch.

X2 with Sparkie.  Bulldog Security incorrectly lists the door locks as Type B (-) but they are in fact Type A (+) as shown in other wire listing sources ( DEI, Audiovox, etc ).

It always pays to test and verify.  posted_image
