Hello:
I have a prostart ct-3400tw installed in a 2008 Dodge ram. The remote start fails to start about 30% of the time. The vehicle starts but immediately shuts down and produces 3 flashes. The manual says that 3 flashes after failed start means "hardware reset" but does not really elaborate. Does this mean that the unit needs to be reset or is it telling me that a hardware reset (i.e. bad connection or module failure)caused the failed start?

Is it 3 fast or 3 slow flashes?

Three slow flashes.I believe all failed start codes are slow flashes for this unit.

I assume you are using a bypass module in d2d?
Here's a quick fix. Turn on ignition, engage parking brake, disengage parking brake, turn ignition off. Remote start the vehicle. The unit will lock in for auto mode assuming you have the yellow loop cut

Thanks for the reply. I will try that and report back. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is d2d? I am using a bypass module.Also, I do not have a yellow loop. My unit is for auto trans only.

What bypass module and how do you have it wired? Meaning direct wire to wire connections or is it done through a 4 pin wire that has black red blue and white

Not sure which module they used or how it was installed. I didn't know there was different ways to hook it up. I'll have to take the kick panel off tomorrow and see if I can see what they have done. I'll let you know tomorrow after I can take a look. I tried the quick fix you suggested but when I went to remote start to set auto mode the r/s wouldn't work. Even after several attempts.

Hey, took a look today under the dash and it looks like it is a Fortin EVO-CHR H/W ver. 5, S/W ver 2.08.
It appears to have the 4 wire hook up (black,white,blue,red)
