Alarm Says Door Open But Its Not

my viper car alarm (5501)model says "door open" when it is not. I"ve unhooked all the sensors and it still says "door unlocked" and wont arm.any one ran into this problem or have any ideas for the cause?

When you say "unhooked" all the sensors? What sensors? There are NO external sensors that monitor your doors. Just optional shock tilt etc. There is in the main harness a green - door pin wire and a purple + door pin wire. which one is used depends on your vehicle and how it was installed. IF either of these is hooked up to your dome light instead of a door pin then it will say the door is open until the dome light goes out. HOWEVER the alarm should still chirp and arm, it will just not FULLY activate until the dome light is out... Hope this helps.

thank u can u help me with these issues.I bought this alartm off ebay icannot afford to pay any one to put it on cause they want 300.00the car is a 1983 280zx with no facrory alarm and only 5 wires on the ign harness.1-H2/10 blue status wire?Where does it connect to?  
H2/11-pink /white flex relay control output? what does this wire do and where does it connect?    
H2/13-starter output where would this connect . I already have a violet starter wire comming off the main 8 wire harness going to my starter.What does this wire do?       
H2/14 pink-200ma ignition 1 output where does it connect?
H3/1pink + ignition imput /output.How can this wire be both(input-output) where does it connect?       
H1/8- door trigger imput(-) I have installed a door pin switch to show ground when thse door is open. is this the correct thing to do .
I have not been able to get the brain to remote start the car either
I also cannot get the remote to go into the program mode Actually all ive got it to do is loco/unlock and the lights flase.What wires go to the keysense? any ideas would b greatly appreciated edwards.roy300@yahoo.com

----- This wire shows ground when the remote start is active. Unless you are using a bypass module it is not required.

----- It is an additional programmable ignition/accessory output. Unless your car has a 2nd ignition or 2nd accessory wire, this wire is not required.

----- One of the starter wires is a heavy gauge and connects to your starter wire in the car. The other is a 200ma output an does not get connected.

----- It is an input for the alarm to read when the ignition is turned on by the key, but an output during remote start. It just connects to your ignition wire in the car.

----- Yes, it should show ground when the door is opened. Make sure the unit is programmed to a normally open door trigger.

Read through your quoted post for the answers to your questions. As far as not remote starting, there are numerous things that could cause it to not remote start. What exactly happens when you try to remote start it? Did you verify EVERY wire with a DMM before making the connections?

I did not verify every wire cause some I dont know where they go.I did buy a bitwriter and its prett easy to under stand I did verify the remote start heavy gauge wires and the neutrtal safety wire is attached and the footbrake .I cranked the car mashed the brake .raised the emergency brake which shows ground and mashed the remote start button .but I still get the error code remotr start not initslized.

the lights flash 7 times which indicates remote start not enabled .but I have went thru rhe remote start process

what does polarity feed mean?Most of the wires on the 8 pin remote start harness refer to polarity feed instead of actually telling u where the wire connects ?sorry I;m real new at this I have hooked up mant alarms but nothing like the 5501!
