Looking to add a basic keyless entry (like Avital) to the GF's 2009 Camry CE and saw a thread here that talked about doing the entire install in the kick panel and door sill. That thread, however, did not mention where to access the trunk release wire. The main Camry wire chart shows this is available at the BECU but I am wondering if it is isn't also available in the door sill area. Anyone here know if this is possible?

CE Camry doesn't have power trunk.

You would probably be able to get the motor and/or latch for a Camry LE, SE, or XLE from either the dealer's parts department or a junkyard. I'm not sure if you can get just the motor, or possibly the whole latch assembly is different.

The are aftermarket trunk-pop solenoids on the market, but they require a good amount of patience and lots of adjustment and re-adjustment to install; I'd try to get the factory stuff if you can.

The 2002-2006 base Camry still had the wiring in the driver's kick panel, but I'm not sure about the 2007-2011 style. You might have to run your own wire to the back, or the car might already have it.

Thanks, guys. I was wondering if that car might have a manual/cable trunk release as opposed to a button and elec actuator. I haven't actually popped the trunk myself before. Oh well, she'll have to be happy with remote door locks.
