Greetings.
I recently bought an '01 Dakota and I want to install a remote start. The truck has a TCU powered by a third ignition wire (IGN 3). Would the 4113 be able to support this function? I was wondering if I would be able to use the H2/5 wire ( (-) 200mA 2nd Status/Rear Defrogger Output) and run it through a relay.
If that won't work what are some other remote starts that will?

Looks like that truck has one Starter wire, three Ignition wires and two Accessory wires. The 4113 can directly
support one Starter, two ignitions and one Accessory from the heavy gauge 6 Pin plug. However the 4113 makes
it easy to add the additional circuits by using the outputs on the connector shown below.

1 BLUE STATUS OUTPUT *** Used for bypass module, if you have a Gray Ign key
2 ORANGE (-) ACCESSORY OUTPUT
3 PURPLE (-) STARTER OUTPUT
4 PINK (-) Ignition OUTPUT
You will need two 30/40 Amp SPDT relays. Wire as follows :
Relay 1
Relay Pin 85 to Orange (-) Accessory Output
Relay Pin 86 and 87 to +12V constant thru 20 Amp fuse
Relay Pin 30 to Dakota Accessory 2
Relay Pin 87A not used - insulate
Relay 2
Relay Pin 85 to Pink (-) Ignition Output
Relay Pin 86 and 87 to +12V constant thru 20 Amp fuse
Relay Pin 30 to Dakota Ignition 3
Relay Pin 87A not used - insulate

That's exactly what I wanted to know. But a question for you, Why couldn't I use two SPST relays instead? I'm already planning on getting a couple of those for the door locks anyway.

you can use spst relays for the ignition circuits. if the locks are reverse polarity, you will need spdt relays. i cant remember at the top of my head if they are in this vehicle.

SPST relays will work fine for that application ( as long as the current rating is the same ). The SPDT Bosch style relays are the most common and readily available type. Most installers just stock the SPDT because there isn't much price difference and the greater flexibility.

I was going to say what kreg said....good luck even finding SPST relays without having to order them from far away somewhere.
And I'm pretty sure that the blue/white and blue wires from the Avital comes on a little bit before ignition, but the pink comes on at the exact same time as ignition........ so basically, I'm pretty sure you want to use the small pink to trigger the relay if it's an ignition wire you'll be powering, and the small orange if it's an accessory.
Using the blue or blue/white would cause that one wire to power up out of sync with the others, which I'm sure wouldn't hurt anything on a vehicle as straightforward as an '01 Dakota, but could do weird things on some newer cars.
Also, when working/testing, you'll find a "second accessory" wire that comes on with the key in the "radio" position. If you don't power this wire, the only thing that'll happen is that the radio will stay off until you put the key in to do takeover.....I like it better this way anyway.
