I just had a Viper 560XV alarm+rs installed and the shop used an XK01 to bypass. At first glance everything appears to be working correctly including shutdown points and remote start. However the Viper has a fit and alarms if I lock the car with the factory fob, lock it with the Viper fob and then unlock it again with the factory fob. The Viper dealer has no clue if this is correct operation or not. I was told to just use the Viper fob to both unlock and lock the car. Is this proper operation? Thanks.

the alarm doesnt get disarmed when you use the factory fob, it only unlocks the doors... the alarm, if armed just hears/senses the car being violated.

use only the viper remotes and you should be fine. if you end up needing to use the oem remotes, make sure you know how to disarm the alarm via the valet switch.

Yes, it is correct. The Viper doesn't have any disarm inputs. Therefore, if you arm the Viper you must disarm the Viper before you open the door.

Sad that your installer didn't know this.
