on a 556T temp/timer module, the WHITE/ blue wire is supposed to trigger the activation wire on a remote start.

i was wondering if anyone knew for sure if it could be used to pulse a relay directly instead.

i wanna use one in my garage to (attempt to) close the door at several intervals during the night in case i leave it open. i would wire it through a door mounted switch that would not let it try if the door was already closed.

i already have a 519H in the garage so i could tap into its power supply wires to power the unit.

Being that the contacts for your garage door should be very low current I would just use a reed relay instead of a bosch relay. Instead of 160mA of the Bosch reed relays typically pull 5mA.

With that being said, most likely the output is transistorized and can handle 200mA. One way to find out for sure is to open it up and trace the circuit back and see what is driving it. Also, make sure there is a diode on the output to prevent damaging the output when driving an inductive load.

directed emailed me a couple hours ago and said 200ma capable.

here is what they emailed me....

"Yes, this is possible.  The 556T will provide a 200mA output when it pulses."

since i have the 519H already installed and it has a 451M recepticle on the side to operate 2 more garage doors, i will just plug an old 451M in and break either the green or blue wire re-attaching it to the 556T WHITE/ blue wire.

somewhere along i will series one of the wires through my "door already closed" switch.

the remaining 451M relay will probably end up pulsing a latching relay for garage lights.

Itsyuk, I'm with Kevin on the diode, you know it makes sense.
