Subject: power door only works with the remote.

I am able to lock and unlock the door with the remote but I can't unlock it through the driver door switch or any other switch within the car. If I want to unlock the I would have to turn the car off to automatically unlock it or use the remote for the car alarm. Any ideas on what to check for?

thanks

and how did you have to connect the door locks? Was it a simple tag and go or did you have to wire in a relay / cut the factory wire for any reason?

I have a 97 Suburban which I connected the 3 Wire Positive Door Locks as shown in the link below:

https://www.the12volt.com/doorlocks/page3.asp#3wp

I didn't have to cut any door lock wires. I just tapped into the door lock/unlock wires. I did cut the wires for the window module but I don't believe it would affect the door locks. All my windows works fine.

Check your fuses especially those in conjunction with your body control ECU, also all the connectors, pull off and replace firmly.

The cigarette lighter 20 amp fuse keeps blowing. What does the lighter have to do with the door locks?

Could be sharing a fuse. If you replace the fuse without using the cig. lighter is everything OK?
Also are you using it as a lighter or for a charger/power supply for a TomTom etc?

I don't have anything hooked up to the cigarette lighter. I took the cigarette lighter out and replaced the fuse and as soon as I hit the door locks it pops the fuse. I have read on different forum it could be a coin stuck in there but I have checked it twice and nothing was in there.

Take a close look at the cig.lighter it may be a penny inside.

Did you use white for unlock and light blue for lock, make shure that this two wires are not in contact at the relays.

Does anyone know about a resettable fuse for cars? Kinda like the once found at home where you can reset it without putting a whole new fuse.

It sounds like it is def. something with the door locks (not the cig lighter). Did you test the white and lt. blue wires before making the connection? You may also have a pinched wire somewhere. I would disconnect the relays from the vehicle and see if the fuse still blows. If so you probably have a pinched wire somewhere (possibly in the door boot) or you have a bad switch. If the locks return to working properly then retest the wires and connect them one at a time to see which one causes the fuse to blow.
Also, what relays did you use (dei 451m / separate relays / 5pin vs 4pin). If you used 5 pin relays, make sure the 87a pin of each relay is properly insulated and not grounding out.

Thank to all that helped me. I was able to solve the issue by removing 87a from ground.

Thanks again especially to itsyuk!!!

on the dei 451m instructions, type A lock wiring is what you have.
