I installed a viper 5301 remote start and entry system on a 2001 chevy silverado. Everything was good for a month or so. Today i took notice that when i lock the truck with the remote The doors lock then 2 seconds later the horn chirps then 5 seconds later the heard chirps again and my remote buzzes with a green led and red led. It use to chirp the horn twice then the green led by the lock button would come on. The unlock works like it's suppose to. I have the viper wired to use D2D thru a expresskit dball module. Any ideas what to look for
You may have a weak battery in the remote.

So I guess you have an alarm installed. The alarm might be telling you that you have a zone in error like for example, doors still opened. You can remove the zone error confirmation in the programming menus or try to find the error. If your using D2D, I presumed that you didn't wire the door trigger input. If it's the case, you can re-flash the dball and remove the door trigger output so that you can see if it solves your problem.

Just the factory alarm is installed. The only door trigger input i have wired is to the driver's door for the rap module input of the dball module
Then I still suspect the remote battery or you might have a defective antenna which does not respond correctly.

I replaced the battery in the remote still does the samething on lock. I hit the lock button while sitting in the truck and i took notice that after hitting the lock button then a get an error on the remote. If i watch the blue led it flashes 3 times

From page 20 of the 5301 Owners Manual... Maybe get rid of the D2D and go W2W.
If errors are found when locking:
If the door is open when you lock the vehicle, the horn honks once an the parking lights flash. The horn then honks a second time to indicate that the door is open and the LED on the control center flashes in groups of three.
The 2-way remote control sounds a short "error" tone, and the LED indicators next to the buttons flash. Note: The optional horn honk and door inputs has to be installed for this function.

I'll look into it some more. The whole system was working with d2d just fine for about 2 weeks. It justed started acting like this. On occ it works properly when locking but most of the time it doesn't.
