Hi,
I am new to this form but I could see lot of help is available for anykind of new installers. I am trying to install PKALL module in my toyota yaris (goal is to hook it up with viper 5501 remote start module). I have two questions.
1) PKALL installation page for yaris says I have to determine if I want to install with D2D or without D2D. My question is what is the difference (advantage and disadvantages) of these two approches. I know Viper5501 has D2D port. What expert would recommand?
2) How should TX and RX should be connected? PKALL TX --> car TX or PKALL TX --> Car RX?

Check your Yaris for the transponder ring antenna at the ignition switch.
Not all Yaris's had a transponder system.
The only difference between D2D and W2W for that application is connecting
the D2D cable or cutting the D2D cable and hardwiring the +12V and ground
wires at Connector 1. Which ever works best for you.
Wire Name PKALL Yaris
Code (RX) PURPLE / White 7 pin connector, Pin 4 Green (DATA) Ignition switch
TXCT Yellow/Black 7 pin connector, Pin 5 Violet (DATA) Ignition switch
Keysense Green Yellow (-) @ Ignition switch
(-)While Running Blue/White Viper 5501 Blue (-) 200ma Status Output

Soldering is fun!
With d2d the dball will do features like locks, arm & disarm, door status, brake switch & more & you dont need to find the wires. It will do it through the (can system). But on some cars it dosent work so well. I did a am6.2 & dball on a yaris last year & it worked great through d2d.
With w2w (wire 2 wire) you will need to hook the input & output wires between the dball & alarm/r.start.
both of these use the can system for the above features. in d2d you just plug the 4 pin plug between the 2 & gain all of these features.
Thank you Kreg for pointing to the installation link.
I know my car has transponder ring antenna at the ignition switch. That is the reason I had selected PKALL as immobilizer as it supports 2009 yaris. My question is if I connect D2D wire between PKALL module and Viper 5501 remote starter, will it give me some more flexibility in instllation? (e.g less wire tapping due to D2D).
