Date Posted: April 21, 2012 at 1:00 AM

I installed a 5704 in my 91 240sx
The car remote starts absolutely fine, but when I try to start the car with the key, ignition powers up but starter won't crank.
Heres the issue, when the pink ignition 1 input wire gets power, the starter kill opens, with no power there is continuity between violet and green, with power(ignition on) no continuity, i tested this with a dvom, any ideas?

RED / white, red, and RED / black--connected to white(constant 12v)
Pink-- connected to BLACK/ red
BLACK/ white cut in half---- violet-- green

Any advice would really help, thanks.

Maybe the Viper is locked/armed or thinks it's locked/armed armed all the time.
You could try deleting the Starter Kill circuit/wiring as a test.  Disconnect the H3 Green wire and re-connect the
vehicles cut  BLACK/ White starter wire.  The remote start will still work and the key start should also.  If you really need
Starter Kill and/or Anti-Grind you can use an external relay and signals like GWA and GWR.

I disconnected the pink ignition input/output wire and the car started with the key, reconnect it and nothing, so once again checked continuity through violet and purple with a dvom and with key off I have continuity, as soon as I turn the key to acc I get OL, no continuity, so checked for voltage at the starter input wire and turn the key to crank and get 12v, but when I move to the output wire I have 0v.
To me this seems backwards??
Is there any way to do any kind of "master reset" on the alarm module and try again?

And yea if I can't figure this out I'll just bypass the starter kill and just connect the output wire.

The work around:-
Use a standard 5 terminal relay.
Cut the BLACK/ white starter wire.
GWR Orange to 85, inline 1N4004 diode band towards 5704.
30amp fused constant 12V+ to 87.
Link from pink (ignition 1) to 86.
Key side of cut wire to 87a.
Starter side and 5704 heavy VIOLET to 30.
Do you by any chance have the green and violets the wrong way round?
Green to key side and violet to starter side.

OK so disconnect the green and join BLACK/ white together leave the violet connected.
You should have key start and remote start and a faulty internal relay.
Do my work around to restore.
